Why February?
February offers lush green landscapes, beautiful light and excellent wildlife viewing. With fewer vehicles than peak season, you'll enjoy a more relaxed safari and wonderful photographic opportunities.
Designed for Photographers
This isn't a standard safari. We'll spend time observing animal behaviour, making the most of the light and waiting for moments that create memorable images. Whether you are an experienced photographer or an enthusiastic beginner, Ann will be on hand to help you get the best from your camera.
Small Groups
With a maximum of just 3 photographers, everyone has plenty of space in the vehicle, an excellent viewing position and individual guidance throughout the safari.
Your Home in the Mara
You'll stay at the renowned Governors' Camp, perfectly located on the banks of the Mara River in the heart of the Masai Mara National Reserve. Its superb location means you are never far from the wildlife, allowing us to maximise our time in the field.
Game Drives
Unlike many standard safaris, most of our game drives are full-day experiences with a picnic breakfast and lunch in the reserve. This gives us the freedom to stay with the wildlife, observe natural behaviour as it unfolds and make the most of every photographic opportunity, rather than returning to camp just as the action begins.
Who is this Safari for?
This photo safari is perfect for photographers of all abilities, from beginners to experienced enthusiasts. But you don't have to be a photographer to join us. If you simply love wildlife
and want to experience the Masai Mara at a relaxed pace, with time to observe
animal behaviour and enjoy unforgettable encounters, you'll have an amazing time too.
Why Travel With Me?
With over 15 years photographing in Kenya, Ann combines a passion for wildlife with extensive field experience to help you improve your photography and understand animal behaviour.
Her small groups and relaxed approach mean you'll have plenty of individual guidance
throughout the safari.
A Typical Day
No two days are the same.
We'll often head out before sunrise to make the most of the beautiful
morning light. Depending on wildlife activity, we'll spend much of the day in the reserve
with a picnic breakfast and lunch, following sightings, observing behaviour and making the
most of photographic opportunities before returning to camp in the evening.
Wildlife and Photographic Opportunities
The Masai Mara is one of Africa's most spectacular wildlife destinations, offering
an incredible diversity of subjects.
While every safari is unique and wildlife sightings can never be guaranteed, we'll have opportunities
to photograph Africa's iconic big cats, elephants, giraffes, buffalo, hippos, hyenas,
a rich variety of birdlife and, with a little luck many other fascinating species.
Every game drive brings something new, making each day an exciting photographic adventure. .

Guests' experiences:
"The trip itself was meticulously planned from start to finish. What many people don’t realise is the enormous amount of work that goes on behind the scenes to ensure everything runs smoothly, and Ann’s attention to detail was exceptional. Safaris are, by their very nature, unpredictable, but Ann’s knowledge, experience, and instinct consistently helped us to be in the right place at the right time. She was always on hand with practical photographic guidance, helping us capture the best possible images and make the most of every wildlife encounter."
"Whether you are embarking on your very first safari or your twenty-first, travelling with Ann is an incredible experience. Her professionalism, enthusiasm, and dedication to both photography and her guests make her an outstanding guide and host. I would wholeheartedly recommend one of Ann’s safaris
to anyone looking for a truly memorable and rewarding adventure" .
"Ann ....... was always available to offer guidance, encouragement and technical advice.
Whether the question related to camera settings, composition or the quirks of different
camera systems, she was generous with her knowledge and genuinely invested in helping
everyone come home with images they could be proud of".
