If you love African wildlife and Photography then a safari with Ann is all you could ever ask for and more. This was the seventh safari I have been on with Ann and they seem to get better and better. For a start everything ithat Ann has any control over is organised to perfection from the moment we arrived in Nairobi to the time we left. Governor’s Camp where we were based is a lovely very comfortable Camp situated by the Mara River where the staff are friendly and helpful and the food is delicious. When it comes to the safaris - each day is so different but two things never change - Ann is always there with advice and assistance re camera settings etc and Mike, our driver who works so well with Ann, endeavors and succeeds to get our vehicle in the best positions for photography. He is also a very careful driver. Thank you for everything Ann and Mike. I can hardly wait to go on another safari with you.

I have been following Ann for the last two years. Her photographs are just beautiful and show wonderful animal behaviour in their natural environment. I just had to book myself on one of her safaris. If I could manage to capture just one or two photos like that I would be very pleased. I in fact managed to capture many, due to the skill of both Ann and Mike the guide. Always in the right position to get the best photo for light etc.

Ann is so patient and helpful, with exposure and settings, together with editing advice also. I have many hours of editing to do now, but what a joy to rediscover each moment.

The camp was wonderful also, tents overlooking the river, I love hippos, and to hear their voices as you lay in bed was wonderful. All the staff very so attentive, and nothing was too much trouble for them. So much so I have booked a second safari in January, and can’t wait to go back.

Thank you Ann and Mike for a truly magical experience, and I would recommend this fully immersive safari. From start to finish everything is meticulously planned, and nothing is too much trouble.

Every once in a while, if you are lucky, you discover a place so special, so magical, that it stays with you forever. For me, that place is the Masai Mara.

Although this was not my first visit to the Mara, it was my first photography-focused safari, and travelling with Ann Aveyard Photography made it an unforgettable experience. From the moment I booked, everything was organised with care, precision and attention to detail. Before we even arrived, Ann had created a friendly and supportive What's App group where group members could connect, share questions and receive prompt, helpful answers.

From a photographic perspective, the trip was everything I had hoped for and more. Ann works alongside Mike Masai, an exceptional guide whose knowledge of the Mara is second to none. Having worked extensively with Ann—and also with BBC wildlife productions—Mike has an instinctive understanding of both animal behaviour and the needs of photographers. Time and again he seemed to know exactly where the action would be and, just as importantly, how to position the vehicle to make the most of the light and the photographic opportunities.

Ann herself was always available to offer guidance, encouragement and technical advice. Whether the question related to camera settings, composition or the quirks of different camera systems, she was generous with her knowledge and genuinely invested in helping everyone come home with images they could be proud of.

I'm still working my way through the thousands of photographs I brought home, and every image brings back wonderful memories of this remarkable trip.

Governors' Camp was the perfect base, situated on the banks of the Mara River and right in the heart of the wildlife action. The accommodation was comfortable and beautifully maintained, while the food was excellent, offering plenty of choice and variety throughout our stay.

The true measure of any trip is whether you would do it again. I have already booked my next safari with Ann for 2027, and I cannot wait to return.

Joining Ann Aveyard on her photography safari to the Masai Mara was truly the adventure of a lifetime. I was fortunate to be offered a last-minute place following a cancellation, leaving me with just four weeks to prepare. Despite the short notice, Ann was absolutely fantastic in helping me get ready for the trip.

She generously gave her time and expertise to help me set up my new camera, choose the right accessories, and navigate all the practical travel requirements, including vaccinations and visas. Her advice was invaluable, and thanks to her guidance I arrived feeling fully prepared, confident, and ready to make the most of the experience.

The trip itself was meticulously planned from start to finish. What many people don’t realise is the enormous amount of work that goes on behind the scenes to ensure everything runs smoothly, and Ann’s attention to detail was exceptional. Safaris are, by their very nature, unpredictable, but Ann’s knowledge, experience, and instinct consistently helped us to be in the right place at the right time. She was always on hand with practical photographic guidance, helping us capture the best possible images and make the most of every wildlife encounter.

Mike was our driver, however he is so much more- through his trusty binoculars he manages to find all the secret places the wildlife like. He finds the best light, the shade, and most importantly the twitch of an ear at over 200m that suggests a lion, a cheetah or another animal that many guides never spot. Ann and Mike make a great team.

Whether you are embarking on your very first safari or your twenty-first, travelling with Ann is an incredible experience. Her professionalism, enthusiasm, and dedication to both photography and her guests make her an outstanding guide and host. I would wholeheartedly recommend one of Ann’s safaris to anyone looking for a truly memorable and rewarding adventure.

I've recently completed my 2nd safari in the Masai Mara with Ann. Everything was meticulously planned. From airport arrival, to transportation, to the Nairobi hotel and Wilson Airport the following morning.

Governors Camp was superb. Located on the bank of the Mara River, with excellent catering, lovely staff and first class accommodation. More akin to glamping than sleeping in a tent. The guide Ann always chooses is Mike Masai, a skilful, thoughtful driver, who knows the Masai Mara intimately. His knowledge of the wildlife is excellent.

The trip was thoroughly enjoyable and I have no hesitation in recommending one of Ann's safari trips.

I am running out of superlatives when it comes to reviewing Ann’s photographic safaris. I have now been on six and each one has proved how generous Ann is with her time in advising how to make the most out of one’s camera. She is also an excellent organizer and everything has always gone smoothly from arrival in Nairobi to our departure. The only things

you have to take care of are your international flights and ETA ( visa) and currency. Back to the photographic safari Ann and Mike, our driver guide are extremely flexible. We may set off with an early morning plan but Mike will get an exciting tip off and the initial plan changes - it’s all part of the fun of being on safari with Ann as well as having an even more exciting photographic opportunity. What greater praise can I give Ann than that I am joining her again in June!! Thank you Ann.

I’ve now been on 3 of Ann’s photographic safaris and am looking forward to many more.

Ann is the perfect host , so friendly and easy to get along with , always there for help on any photography questions you have , can’t praise her enough .

Governors camp is the perfect backdrop for the trip , accommodation is so comfortable and the camp makes you feel immersed in the African experience. But it’s the people you encounter that makes it extra special, the staff are brilliant and always have a smile on their faces and time to chat to you .

Last and definitely not least is Mike the guide Ann users , not only his an unbelievable guide,  spotting wildlife and explaining everything that’s occurring, but also the nicest man you’ll ever meet , so friendly and approachable.

So I cannot recommend Ann’s tours enough , I’m already booked up for another one and there will certainly be more after that .

I got back from my recent safari with Ann and was still buzzing. The safari had so many surprises and such special moments plus Ann was always ready to give help and guidance on best settings etc for photos. She is also a supreme organiser and everything from the moment two of us arrived at Nairobi airport ran smoothly. Governor’s Camp our base for the safari is lovely with good food, friendly service and comfortable tents. Ann always arranges for the same Governor’s driver, Mike, to be our guide. Not only is Mike a good driver he is an excellent spotter who also seems to know where animals are heading so we get the best position to photograph them as they come towards us. What more can I bsay than I can hardly wait to go on my next two safaris with Ann next year. Asante Sana Ann and Mike

I have just returned from ten days in Kenya on one of Ann’s photographic safaris. I have travelled extensively with my husband through the years but am a timid solo traveller.  I had nothing to worry about; from my first contact with Ann, she set my mind at ease.  Her attention to every tiny detail is exemplary: from the initial booking, through every aspect of planning for the trip – documentation required, maps, where best to source malaria tablets, suggestions for equipment, clothes to pack – Ann thinks of everything.

Once arrived in Kenya, Ann has everything in place – FastTrack through security, transport, accommodation and a guide in Nairobi. And so to the Mara … There is nothing on this planet to compare with a stay at Governors’ Camp in the Masai Mara and this is a second home to Ann so we were treated like royalty by all the staff. I unfortunately developed a chest infection while I was there. The medical service was extraordinary. There is a resident doctor in the camp and my required medication was flown in from Nairobi!

A good guide is the core element required to ensure a successful stay at Governors. Mike (Ann’s chosen guide) is not just a ‘good’ guide, he is an exceptional guide. We spent long days out on game drives but the days flew by as Mike drove us with consummate skill to each successive extraordinary sighting. He always knew exactly where to place the jeep (well-trained by Ann I imagine!) to try for that perfect shot.

Nothing is too much trouble for Ann. I cannot recommend her photographic safaris highly enough.

Brilliant day out with you Ann. Thank you so much for your gentle guidance on shooting red squirrels. My first ever time both on Brownsea and for red squirrels. Your knowledge of their habits really helped with positioning. The light helped build on that knowledge to give some superb images. Thank you.
